Veterans’ Day
By Redcoat | November 11, 2009
Today is Veterans’ Day. Take a moment from your busy schedules and reflect on the debt we owe veterans for their service. And if you see one, thank them.
A reminder that tomorrow - Thursday - evening is the Veterans’ ceremony and celebration put on by our schools. It’s at McGee at 7:00. I encourage everyone to attend. For those who were lucky enough to be at last year’s event, it was tremendous. There’s no reason to think that this year’s ceremony will be any less inspiring.

Amen to that Redcoat. Today is an especailly poignant Veteran’s day given what just occured at Ft. Hood. While everyone has a different reason for enlisting in the armed services, they all went in knowing that they could possibly give their lives for our country. Each and every one, whether they saw active duty or not, deserve our thanks and respect.

If you plan on going tomorrow (which I strongly encourage) get there early. Last year was standing room only. Thank you to all of our Vets!

My son was one of the 50 from McGee who went to the Veteran’s Home in RockyHill Monday to interview a Veteran. It was a great experience for him!

The last several nights the History Channel has aired WWII HD. An excellent documentary for young people to watch. My thirteen year found it extremely informative and interesting!
